FAQ
What is a con?
A UU Young Adult con is a weekend-long event where Unitarian Universalists and like-minded folk ages 18 to 35 to connect and build intentional community together. Common con activities range from ultimate frisbee to social justice discussions to worship and everything in between.
What is Unitarian Universalism?
Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion that doesn't impose a belief system. Instead, Unitarian Universalists are brought together by shared values, like respecting the inherent worth and dignity of every person. To learn more, this page from the UUA is a great place to start.
I'm not UU. Is this for me?
Are you interested in inclusive intentional community? Do you want to make friends and learn from other young adults? Do you like ukuleles?
If you're not sure, PLEASE reach out to us! We are happy to talk with you in more detail.
Can you accommodate my needs?
Our goal is to make this event accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, financial status, etc. We can't accommodate every set of needs, but there is a lot of support we can offer. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about this!
What makes this con different from past cons?
The needs of young adults are different than the needs of youth, and the structure of a con should reflect that. We can't announce anything now, but we're hoping to be able to provide comfortable bedding and offer social justice training at the con. If you have any additional ideas for how we can meet the needs of young adults, we would love to hear them!
